Finnair will increase direct flights to Hong Kong. Instead of the previous seven flights, Finnair will fly to Hong Kong with a frequency of 12 flights per week from June next year. Hong Kong in China is one of the world’s most important economic centres.

“Finnair’s position in traffic between Asia and Europe is strengthening continually. Our Asian strategy is working really well, and demand has grown strongly. In addition to the extra flights to Hong Kong, we recently announced that Finnair will open a new route to Singapore in May 2011,” says Finnair’s SVP Communications Christer Haglund.

The shortest routes between Asia and Europe pass through Helsinki, so Finland’s geographical location enables Finnair to offer its customers fast and smooth connections. Excellent links from Hong Kong to elsewhere in Asia are also offered via Finnair’s route network.

Finnair operates scheduled flights to 11 long-haul destinations. The long-haul fleet currently consists of twelve wide-bodied aircraft.
