Cargo shipments from abroad with domestic onward connection in Finland
Cargo bookings to Finnish destinations can be made as usual by calling our local Cargo Reservations http://www.finnaircargo.com/en/cargo/local-contacts.html . However, for shipments coming from outside the EU the final destination has to be Helsinki due to customs reasons as the Finnair Cargo terminals at other Finnish airports (except Helsinki) will be closed during the spring.
No special cargo such as dangerous goods (DGR), human remains, urns and coffins (HUM), valuable and vulnerable (VAL, VUN), aquarium fish (AVF), diplomatic post (DIP), built up units (BUP) and domestic animals (AVI) is allowed on domestic flights.
Laboratory animals such as rats, rabbits and mice (SPF) and live crayfish are still accepted.
Radioactive shipments (RRE, RRW, RRY) can be sent from Helsinki (HEL) and Jyväskylä (JYV).
Dry ice (ICE) shipments and UN3373 numbered medical samples (RDS) are accepted as well as blood and transplant organs such as hearts (LHO).
At he moment it is not possible to send cargo from following Finnish stations: Ivalo (IVL), Kuusamo (KAO), Kittilä (KTT), Savonlinna (SVL) and Varkaus (VRK). However, it is still possible to send cargo from EU-countries to these stations.
From Kuopio (KUO) only LHO-shipments are currently accepted. All other cargo will be flown via Joensuu (JOE).
